    Good

We enjoyed the outdoor bar and restaurant area. It had a beautiful view of Diamond Head. Andrea and Rob who worked the bar, were great. We really enjoyed talking to them and they provided excellent service.

Our room for horrible. We could hardly move around. The room never did cool adequately with the small window ac unit it had. I believe that we were stuck there because of the rate that we got from booking from your on-line service. They claimed that they were sold out and that they couldn't move us. This was a one night stay before a cruise that we were boarding the next day, so I was trying to economize, but I did want something nice. I thought that this would be much nicer that it actually was. We stayed at the Waikiki Outrigger on our return. This was a fabulous hotel with a huge room. It even had a partial ocean view and it was only $40 more.

    Exceptional

I had a 'partial view' room and it was without doubt the best 'partial' I've ever had. I saw a 180 degree view of Diamond Head and the beach/ocean.The pool area was great and the restaurant there terrific value for money. I will be travelling through Honolulu late August and plan to book there again. Got any great deals for 'partials' please let me know. Thanks. mccutch@iinet.net.au

    Exceptional

The staff was very helpful after a very bad experience at a different hotel, they got us set up in a room in the middle of the night. I was very happy with the service and plan to stay again and again.

Microwaves in the room would have been a huge help.

Our location to the beach and zoo as well as restaurants and shopping but not to close to the busy center of town.

    Location

Nothing, the place is run down and old, lifts that were working were slow and the rooms were small dated and un inviting. The workers had a dont care attitude, were slow at the counter, The place was a skuz bucket hole and wouldnt recommend to anyone. So glad we only had to spend two nights there and then we moved to Aston Wakiki on the beach. Phew coould not have lasted nine days at kapiolani. Spoke to at least 20 other couples and we all feel the same way.

    Fabulous

Service at hotel was great, and the best is its location

Even my stay at Quenn Kapiolani was great, the hotel needs some maintenance, some times looks too old.

I took a 7 days (/nights) trip to Hawaii as a holiday of a lifetime. I booked online based on the location and on recommendation (online). I was utterly disappointed by the room (tiny, barely clean, uncomfortable, could hear the nieghbours from all corners, bed was 25 years old, etc.) such as I only spent that 1 night I was obliged to per my booking and left immediately after. For the same price, I found a much better room, comfortable, with kitchenette, etc. -- I will never ever go back nor recommend Queen Kapiolalu Hotel. Total rip off and not value for money. I am glad I took the decision to leave, otherwise my holidays would have been very affected. I should also mention that elevators were taking ages to go up and down. I waited up to 15 minutes to go from the 18th floor where my room was to lobby!!!!

    Fabulous

The staff was very friendly, especially the valet attendant. He would greet me with a smile every morning and would always comment about my work day. Our room was very nice and larger than expected..

    Good

    Nice tv

Ants in the sink. Very old fashioned hallways, rooms pealing wall paper my room had a balcony, therefore call an upgrade. Was looking at alley. View of other buildings that looked getto. Also if it was an upgrade, why wasnt breakfast included.

    Superb

Everything was wonderful we stayed for 5 nights booking them in 2 lots as needed to add on and extra 2 nights at the forefront. The cleaners were friendly, do anything for you and were at all times available to help out if needed. We loved the upgrade we were given as it gave us wonderful views of Diamond Head and the Honolulu Zoo grounds and some animals. It is close to the beach and provides everything you need for that including towels and a shower at the entrance to rince off the sand. It was close to the shops and restaurants etc. We had stayed there before and loved it and was very quiet so decided to go back.

We had booked 3 nights a few weeks prior through Bookings.com and then had to add on 2 more in the forefront of the time so we also booked that through bookings.com and we rang several times to make sure we would not be made to move between the 2 and 3 nights booked. It was insured we would be ok and not moved from there. We then came to the 3rd morning at 830am and I received a phonecall in the room saying we had to change rooms and be out by 10am. We were, as you can imagine very distressed as had made sure this would not happen, and had to be at the Marriot Hotel to go on and all day trip to Polynesian Cultual Centre. My husband went and spoke, argued with the staff on the front desk and they would not move in their decision. I then got another phone call saying we had to get out. We then refused to and they then relented and phoned back later to say it had been sorted out!!!!! Very poor service indeed

I choose from the reviews and pictures on the web page. I was disappointed to find that the pictures must be extremely old and outdated. Not one area of the hotel matched what I expected. I was very disappointed in the facility, the room sizes, the small bed, the noice level, the window safety and the lousy air conditioning. And then "no" parking.....it was truely a tourist trap.

After checking into the hotel we entered our room on the fourth floor. Our room window was level to a flat rooftop. Broken glass was on ground outside window. We requested to move rooms fearing a possible break in. The receptionist and manager quickly found an alternate room where we felt much safer and more comfortable. The view of diamond head from the pool is amazing.

The pictures on the hotel website are a little deceiving. We were quite disappointed with the quality and size of the room. There is very little room for luggage as there is not a dresser. Very limited counter space in the bathroom and the shower is tiny. One of our cab drivers told us that he picked up a family from the hotel at 2 am that were convinced the hotel was haunted and checked out. We did not experience anything like this and we were glad we were not made aware of this until our last day.
